Day 1 — Alfama & Belém

Morning

Start in Alfama at São Jorge Castle for panoramic views across the city and the Tagus. Walk downhill through the medieval streets to the Miradouro das Portas do Sol viewpoint.

Afternoon

Uber to Belém. Visit the Jerónimos Monastery (UNESCO World Heritage), the Monument to the Discoveries and Belém Tower along the riverfront. Stop at Pastéis de Belém for the original custard tarts — the queue moves fast.

Evening

Return to Alfama for a Fado dinner show. Choose a smaller, traditional venue rather than a large tourist restaurant — the music is more intimate and the food is better.

Day 2 — Sintra Day Trip

Morning

Take the train from Rossio Station to Sintra (40 minutes, runs every 30 minutes). Head straight up to Pena Palace — arrive early before the tour groups. The colourful hilltop palace and views are unmissable.

Afternoon

Walk or take the bus to the Moorish Castle for additional views and ancient ramparts. Explore Quinta da Regaleira and its mysterious Initiation Well if time and energy allow.

Evening

Return to Lisbon by train. Dinner in Bairro Alto or Chiado — the area comes alive in the evening with restaurants, wine bars and live music spilling onto the streets.

Day 3 — LX Factory & Departure

Morning

If visiting on a Sunday, start at LX Factory's weekly market (10am–6pm) — a creative hub in a converted 19th-century industrial complex with food, vintage, art and design stalls. On other days, explore the surrounding Alcântara neighbourhood.

Afternoon

Walk through Mouraria, Lisbon's historic Moorish quarter, and up to Miradouro da Graça for what many consider the best city viewpoint. End at Time Out Market for a final lunch.

Evening

Head to Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS). The Metro Red Line goes directly to the terminal — allow around 45 minutes from the city centre.
