Build my personalised plan →Day 1 — Gothic Quarter & Barceloneta
Arrive and check in. Start with a walk down Las Ramblas, then duck into the Gothic Quarter (Barri Gòtic) — narrow medieval lanes, hidden squares and the Barcelona Cathedral.
Head to Barceloneta beach for a few hours. Walk along the Passeig Marítim boardwalk toward Port Olímpic and back.
Tapas dinner in El Born — Bar del Pla and El Xampanyet are local favourites. Evening walk back through the Gothic Quarter's illuminated streets with a glass of cava.
Day 2 — Gaudí Day
Start early at Sagrada Família — pre-book tower access online (absolutely essential). Allow at least 2 hours for the interior and tower views. Remarkable at any time of day.
Walk or taxi to Park Güell. The monumental zone requires a timed ticket purchased in advance. The free terraced areas surrounding it are also worth exploring.
Stroll along Passeig de Gràcia to see Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (La Pedrera) lit up at dusk. Dinner in Eixample — the neighbourhood grid has excellent restaurants at every turn.
Day 3 — El Born & Montjuïc
Visit the Picasso Museum in El Born — book online to skip the queues. Explore the neighbourhood around the Santa Maria del Mar church, one of Barcelona's most beautiful.
Take the cable car or taxi up to Montjuïc Castle for panoramic views across the city and port. Walk the gardens on the way back down.
Dinner in Poble Sec on Carrer Blai — a pedestrian street lined with pintxos bars. Order one of everything. Return via the Barceloneta waterfront.
Day 4 — Gràcia & Departure
Explore Gràcia — independent cafes, colourful squares and Mercat de l'Abaceria. A very different side of Barcelona from the tourist trail, and where locals actually live.
Final walk along Passeig de Gràcia for any last browsing. Pick up food gifts at Mercat de Santa Caterina near El Born — less crowded than La Boqueria.
Head to El Prat Airport (BCN). The Aerobus from Plaça Catalunya takes around 35 minutes and runs every 5 to 10 minutes.
